Primary Responsibilities: • Assist members in completing loan applications, process approved loans, disburse funds and secure credit union interest in any collateral. • Maintain a thorough knowledge of and perform routine transactions including, but not limited to: new accounts, share draft accounts, different IRAs available, share certificates, direct deposit, lines of credit advances, temporary check issues and plastic card requests. • Provide routine information regarding credit union services, membership requirements and cross sale of our various products. • Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints and/or direct the member to the proper person for specific information and assistance. • Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable regulations and credit union products and services and be able to discuss with members and train or assist lower level employees as requested. • Assist members in balancing their accounts, setting up payroll distribution and researching account problems or assisting on the Teller Line, as needed. Qualifications Required: High School graduate with at least 2 years of financial institution experience and possessing exceptional interpersonal and member skills. *Will require Saturdays*

Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Oversee and direct the operations of the Collection Department to insure that it functions within Credit Union and departmental policy. a. Ensure departmental objectives are attained and Financial and Accounting records are accurately maintained and reported by required deadlines. b. Inform V.P./Administration of departmental conditions and objectives. c. Evaluate and conduct employee performance appraisals. d. Recommend and implement approved policy changes. e. Recommend staffing changes, as needed. f. Review and act to resolve member complaints. g. Review all invoices received from various Collection vendors. 2. Ensure that credit and collection policies, procedures, practices and documentation meet Federal and State regulations. 3. Responsible for the management of repossessed vehicles and the disposition of the collateral. Attend foreclosure proceedings, make field calls and work with various collection agencies to minimize losses to the Credit Union. 4. Act as liaison with legal counsel on applicable collections issues. 5. Establish and monitor effective control procedures for delinquent loans. The position is responsible for recommending charge-off of loans, overdrawn shares/share drafts and from the Fresh Start program. Maintain a process of past due loan file reviews and handle the most serious delinquent accounts. Co-approve or deny all extension requests. 6. Ensure staff is properly trained regarding all policies, procedures, protection of credit union’s interests and the courteous handling of members. Train staff on alternative collection techniques to resolve issues positively. Recommend new training programs. 7. Participate in Annual Strategic Planning and Annual Budget process. Provide management with monthly reports on departmental progress. 8. Oversee and manage the collateral protection insurance program. Knowledge Required: (Includes formal education and on-the-job training, licensure, etc.) College Degree and/or 5 plus years of financial institution experience in collections and repossession work at the management level or equivalent combination of education and experience. The qualified candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of credit union industry operations, policies and procedures, and services. Must demonstrate a high level of competency, experience and knowledge in all state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding credit and collections such as liens, bankruptcies, etc. Valid current AZ Drivers License required.

Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related area with advanced training preferred; or a minimum of ten years related lending experience covering consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan types. A minimum of five years experience of credit administration in a senior management position, related experience in loan workout, loan review, collections; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a credit union environment is preferred. Superior planning and leadership skills are essential.
